Rough Trade has changed dramaticaly in the 21st century, Before they didnt have their artist on contracts which backfired on them when they first started out but now have brought that into their company. Also they have accountants who handle all the financial business which they did not have in the past because they didnt really feel it was a busniess it was mroe of a place for people who loved music to go and buy and sell records.
Rough Trade in the 21st century finally got a number one in the charts they had been so close to in the past but couldnt achieve because of the contract problem. Duffy was the artist who got them thier number one in the charts, But they stuck to their same principle and gave duffy time and did not pressure her to do something she did not want to do.
